TOP TEN: The Best Quarry Bay Restaurants
TOP TEN: The Best Quarry Bay Restaurants
**UPDATED 28th MARCH 2022**
Feeling hungry? Here at Banyan Workspace, we’re continually asked which are our favourite restaurants in Quarry Bay, so we’ve dedicated our latest TOP TEN to this very subject! Being self-confessed foodies, we get it: surrounding yourself with delicious eateries can be one of the main decision factors when choosing an office space. Fortunately, you can find fresh juice bars and coffee shops, independent cafes, street food stalls, western fusion and Chinese banquets all within a 10 minute walk of our office.
But for many of us, a favourite restaurant isn’t just about eating good food. It’s also about comfort and ambience, the friendliness of the staff, and the ethical and sustainable sourcing of their produce. Read on to discover the little differences that make the Banyan team’s TOP TEN favourite restaurants in Quarry Bay stand out from the lunchtime crowds. In no particular order…

1. HAVNº
What you need: A morning fix of feel-good coffee
Where to find it: Kiosk A, 1/F Oxford House, Taikoo Place (T: 26132638)
Why we love it: HAVNº makes seriously good coffee, from their rich and intense ristrettos to their velvety Melbourne-style cappuccinos. But to do so while maintaining such dedication to environmental and ethical business practices is next level awesome. From their independently sourced beans to their plant-based “faux-plastic” takeaway cups, this is a coffee shop after our own hearts.
2. Nood
What you need: A quick salad or sandwich to grab between meetings
Where to find it: Lincoln House, 1/F, 979 King’s Road (T: 36913965)
Why we love it: It’s a one stop shop for healthy and nutritious food on-the-go, including delicious organic wraps, salads, chia pods and a huge selection of fresh homemade juices. And to ensure the planet stays as healthy as its food, it’s committed to an impressive sustainability policy and gives a $3 discount if you bring your own Banyan lunchbox.

What you need: A post-workout hit of authentic homestyle Italian pasta
Where to find it: G/F, 18 Hoi Kwong Street (T: 28562911)
Why we love it: This very cute trattoria is a staple of the Banyan team. We love the small but perfectly designed menu, the passionate and authentic team, and the fact that their specialty homemade lemonade can be made even more delicious after hours with a shot of vodka!
4. Catch
What you need: A fun catch-up with friends or colleagues
Where to find it: 21 Hoi Wan Street (T: 25683299)
Why we love it: The original K-Town Aussie brunch experts have recently imported their fun wine-bar attitude to Quarry Bay, and have quickly become a favourite for both lunches and after-work team dinners. We love their seafood specialties such as the soft-shell crab burger, traditional fish and chips, pints of prawns and buckets of clams.

5. Fete Up
What you need: A healthy take-out lunch to eat at your desk
Where to find it: Shop 4, G/F, 933 King’s Road (T: 56882232)
Why we love it: Fete Up has revolutionized the concept of fast food with its healthy and delicious takeaway lunchbox options. For a very-reasonable set price, you get to pick from a tempting selection of vegetables, protein, carbs and sides – our favourite has to be the veggie chili with coconut rice, okra and roasted pumpkin! Don’t forget your reusable Banyan lunchbox to get a 5% discount.
What you need: A trusted “go-to” for client lunches and after-work drinks
Where to find it: 2/F Oxford House, Taikoo Place (T: 27881993)
Why we love it: Okay, so this is a bit of a cheat, as The Sixteenth is actually 4 restaurants in 1, but we are loving the fact Pirata’s new dining concept brings a touch of CBD glamour to Quarry Bay. The Italian and Japanese-themed rooms offer first-rate food, extravagant decor and some killer cocktails!

7. Tulsi
What you need: A rewarding curry after a hard day’s work
Where to find it: Shop 1, G/F, Hoi Kwong Court, 13-15 Hoi Kwong Street (T: 25612968)
Why we love it: Hidden at the back of this unassuming shopping arcade is one of Quarry Bay’s best-kept secrets – a Michelin-recommended authentic Indian restaurant, serving all your favourite dishes, including perfectly baked samosas, rich curries and tikkas, BBQ meats and seafood and endless vegetarian options, all washed down with an ice-cold Kingfisher beer. Delicious and decadent.
What you need: A delicious bowl of comfort food on a cold day
Where to find it: 30 Hoi Kwong Street (T: 23367888)
Why we love it: Shugetsu is a Quarry Bay institution. They don’t take bookings and the queue is always out the door, but if you can get there early, there is no beating their specialty tsukemen. This simple hole-in-the-wall has been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand for its incredible umami-rich soup base and homemade noodles.
9. Grotto
What you need: A delicious set lunch in under 30 minutes
Where to find it: 19 Hoi Chak Street (T: 35638935)
Why we love it: Hidden behind a dusky-blue façade on Hoi Chak Street is this tiny but über-chic little cafe is as famous for its home-roasted coffee and fusion lunch sets as it is for its insta-worthy decor. We love their “Grab & Go” window for takeaway sandwiches and pastries, a perfect solution for the busy office worker or social distancer!

10. Foo Ka
What you need: Some dim sum and then some
Where to find it: 2/F Kerry Centre, 683 King’s Road (T: 27500823)
Why we love it: Everyone needs their fix of dim sum, congee or Chinese banquet specialties once in a while, and we’re lucky to have one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area just a stone’s throw from our building. Despite its previous listing in the Michelin guide, head chef Kei Gor has kept his prices affordable, so expect the usual hustle and bustle at lunchtime.
And a special mention for a lunch option if you really can’t escape from your desk…

What you need: A quality three-course meal delivered straight to the office
Where to find it: www.bainmariehk.com (T: 64651069)
Why we love it: There is something very special about Bain Marie’s meal delivery service. Order from their online menu before 5pm the previous day, and they deliver their delicious meals straight to your office, piping hot and on time. Each course comes in individual reusable glass jars, which you simply return to the insulated delivery bag after eating to be collected the next morning, cleverly eliminating all disposable waste. Coupled with a frequently-updated menu selection and a commitment to local sourcing of produce to further reduce their environmental impact, that beats the usual pizza order any day!
